An Important Message from Mandarin Blueprint

You’re receiving this message because you’re one of the people who has invested a significant amount of time and money into MB, and Luke and I need your help.

As you’re already aware, we’re in the process of building the Advanced Course. This is going to more than double the size of the course. It will provide a path to learning Mandarin directly through native Chinese content. In short, the Advanced Course is the final piece of the puzzle for you to graduate beyond learning materials. 

Here’s the rub…

Running an online business is hard. Monetizing a creative endeavor is even harder. We’ve done decently well, but I’ll be straight with you; we aren’t doing well enough to justify the amount of time & money required to focus entirely on the Advanced Course (for now, anyway).  

This type of project simply doesn’t provide enough immediate return and so without outside help, we need to put our energy and attention into activities that will increase our profitability in the short to medium-term.

Our Request

So many of you have reached out about the prospects of the Advanced Course getting finished. We don’t want to let you down, but the only chance we have of getting the course completed by the end of 2021 is if we have greater financial stability.

If you’re in a position where you can donate to the creation of our Advanced course, we’ve set up a Go Fund Me campaign to help expedite its creation. We’ve set our goal at $50,000.

While this goal may at first seem lofty, it’s actually quite carefully calculated. 

We need to pay the salaries of those who can spend the time meticulously finishing the tasks necessary to add over 1500 characters and 6000+ words to the course. 

It’s going to require full-time work from more than a few people (including us), and that means we’ll need slightly less than $10000 a month between now and the end of the year to ensure we can give all involved fair wages.

The Most Important Caveat

Please, please, PLEASE only donate if it doesn’t hurt to do so. The LAST thing we would ever want is for someone to feel financially burdened by the donation. It’s completely voluntary, and if we can’t make it happen this time around, then hey, the advanced course getting delayed isn’t the end of the world.
