Mandy and Baby Theo

We are raising money for Mandy Temple and her family to assist with medical costs after an emergency birth and the ongoing medical complications that occurred during the birth of her son, Theo. To learn a little bit more about Mandy's situation, please read her story below.

A message from Mandy:

“At my 37 week appointment we found out that Theo was measuring in the bottom 1% for size and I was admitted immediately to induce labor. Theo was born the next day weighing 4lbs 1oz. He had cord trauma during the birth causing him to lose quite a bit of blood and was admitted to the NICU. A few days later I developed a fever and had to be readmitted for an infection from the birth. While in the hospital, we learned that Theo has hearing loss, thyroid issues, and was diagnosed with Trisomy 21/ Down's Syndrome. After staying with Theo in the hospital for 11 days, we were able to come home. A few days after coming home I developed another fever and had to go back to the ER. Turns out I still had the infection and had to have surgery to correct it.

Thankfully Theo is doing considerably well right now but with Trisomy 21 comes certain health issues. After seeing a cardiologist we found out that he does have a small hole in his heart and high blood pressure in his lungs causing his continuous use of oxygen. He will continue to be monitored by specialists indefinitely to ensure he stays as healthy as possible.”
