Mandy Collum, Chanute, KS - HEART SURGERY FUND

This is Jeff Ports and I work with Mandy Collum at the United Country Real Estate office. After a recent Emergency Room visit, Mandy was referred to the Kansas Heart Hospital where it was determined that she has a congenital heart defect. On Tuesday, the 16th Mandy had (serious) heart surgery and after recovering in the ICU for two days should be moving to a regular room today. Mandy seems to be doing well, and will hopefully be able to return home next week. Mandy will be unable to work for approximately the next 30 days and therefore will have no income with which to pay bills. We are trying to raise $5,000 initially to help offset her regular monthly expenses such as house payment, utilities, insurance, and groceries to feed her 14-year-old son. During this time she will also have travel expenses for doctor visits and, of course, the medical bills will start coming in. Mandy DOES (thankfully) have health insurance, but there will be deductibles to meet and other out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered.
