Multiple surgeries for baby Bruce!

Hello I’m Jessica,

I am Mandy’s sister and a proud aunt to baby Bruce and his twin brother Lawson.

Mandy gave birth to two beautiful boys on August 1st. A few months before their birth at the anatomy scan ultrasound Mandy and I were informed that baby B, now known as Bruce, had a bi-lateral cleft lip and palate. Crushed by the news, Mandy went to work finding out every way she could help give Bruce the most normal life possible. She found an incredible surgeon with a wonderful team who are all very passionate about what they do.

Between issues with feeding, being seen by every doctor imaginable and wearing a NAM, the first few months of Bruce’s life has not been easy on them . Weekly, Mandy and Corie commute an hour away with both boys in tow, to a pediatric dentist who has constructed a special mouth piece called a NAM molded just for Bruce. Every week the NAM that is designed to help move Bruce’s nose and lip into place to prepare for surgery has to be adjusted and moved by the dentist. Bruce will continue to wear his NAM (as pictured in the cover photo) until the day of his first surgery, December 2nd.

December 2nd will be just one of multiple surgeries to help correct Bruce’s lip and palate. As one could assume, these doctors appointments and multiple surgeries will rack up major bills for my sister and her husband. As if having one baby isn’t expensive enough, they have two.

I would love to be able to lighten the load for them as they approach Bruce’s surgeries by asking you all to donate whatever you can to go towards their medical bills. My hope is that during this already heartbreaking time of watching their baby go through surgery, they will be able to focus on Bruce and Lawsons needs instead of stressing over finances.
