Mangia, Mangia!

Hello everyone! I’m Henry Rosenbloom, a New York-based filmmaker and a student in the Undergraduate Film and Television program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
In just over two weeks, I’ll be filming my intermediate project, a short film called “Mangia, Mangia!” and I need your help to make it happen!
“Mangia, Mangia!” is the story of Paola, an aging Italian-American woman closing her Prospect Heights restaurant after decades of service. Rent spiked, business dwindled, and Paola served fewer people every day. When a last-ditch “Grand Closing” event fails, Paola is left alone in her own kitchen with one last chance to make what she never could.
I’ve been living with this story for over a year, and it has increased personal significance and specificity as I’ve carried it with me. Small details I’ve noticed from my family, friends and environment have found their way into the story, and somehow this script about an 80-year old Italian chef has become my most personal one yet.
We have a fantastic crew of talented student filmmakers working to make this movie happen, and this fundraising effort is the last step in bringing this script to life. Moviemaking is expensive, and between set design, lighting rentals, location fees, and food (so much food), it’s only through the generosity of people like you that we’re able to fund this production.
My crew and I greatly appreciate any donation you’re able to make, and I thank you for putting faith in my story.
I’ve attached the script below if you want to check it out!
Thank you for your generosity!
