Manifest Europe. Een verhaal voor onze toekomst!

Europa heeft een nieuw lonkend perspectief nodig. Een nieuwe visie op het Europa voor onze kinderen; een openend narratief dat mensen weer dichter bij elkaar brengt.

Want wanneer de toekomst en vooruitgang geen verhaal hebben, bepaalt het verleden waar we heen gaan. Met alle negatieve gevolgen van dien, zoals de Brexit en het toenemend (rechtse) populisme in heel Europa. En dat terwijl de uitdagingen groot zijn, en de weg terug naar het (illusionair) verleden slechts een recept voor teleurstellingen zal zijn. Na jaren van polarisatie, toenemende ongelijkheid en groeiend wantrouwen, is het tijd voor een nieuw perspectief op wat ons verbindt, een perspectief op de kracht van onze diversiteit en op de positieve toekomst die we samen kunnen bouwen.

Dit nieuwe perspectief is mogelijk, maar alleen als we de grenzen van ons voorstellingsvermogen durven doorbreken. Laten we ons een Europa voorstellen dat niet alleen brandjes blust en doormoddert, maar een Europa dat in de wereld van morgen opnieuw de weg wijst naar een betere toekomst voor onszelf en onze kinderen, voor wie we verantwoordelijk zijn.

WAT EN HOE?

Na het succes van Victor Broers' vorige boek over economische transformatie, Waarheid, Waarden & Welvaart, is het tijd voor een nieuw verhaal: Manifest Europe - a positieve future narrative, dit zal in 2024 verschijnen. Daarnaast gaan we verder met onze podcast serie Victor Kijkt Verder: gesprekken met inspirerende visionairs over belangrijke thema’s zoals de toekomst van onze Europese democratie, de opkomst van ecologische steden, Europa’s antwoord op AI, de kracht van van onze unieke diversiteit, klimaatverandering en watermanagement, en meer….

After years of polarisation, economic inequality, and growing distrust our European society deserves a new perspective on what connects us as humans and Europeans, on the strength of our diversity, and on the prosperous future that we can - and have to - build together. In an era of rapid globalization and shifting dynamics, we must challenge conventional thinking and dare to dream beyond what is familiar. Let us envision a Europe that not just adapts and survives but a Europe that thrives and leads the way towards a brighter future for ourselves and our children, for which we are responsible.

WHAT AND HOW?

We are excited to share with you our project Manifest Europe: a creative journey with the mission to craft a new narrative that will break the barriers of our imagination regarding the future of Europe and its place in the world. In the months to come, we will engage with great thinkers and leaders - women and men from all over Europe. In the run-up to the European elections in 2024, Manifest Europe will be published. From January 2024 on, we will also continue with our podcast series Victor Kijkt Verder: conversations with great thinkers, and visionaries in their fields, about important topics like the future of our European democracy, Climate change and water management, The beauty and strength of our unique differences, the future of our physical sphere (our cities and infrastructures), Europe’s response to AI and much more….
