As we grieve for our hometown and grieve with our family, friends, and community for what has been lost, we are also so thankful and truly blessed that all my family members are accounted for. In Filipino culture, asking for help can sometimes bring about feelings of shame or guilt. However, the past few days has taught and shown us that we show up for each other. There is no shame here but love and support.
On behalf of my Manuel ‘Ohana, I am asking for help to rebuild and to replace their home which has housed multi-generations and was one of the last places our late uncle worked on before he died. While his memories live within us, we are also grieving the sentimental value of things he left behind.
We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and support during this time. Your prayers are felt and appreciated ♥️
