Manville Jr Mustangs JV competes at Nationals

The Manville Youth Athletic League Junior Varsity Cheer Team is headed to Pop Warner Nationals in Florida! And this year, we're bigger (our team practically doubled!) we're stronger, and we're more versatile than ever. 

With 2 national CORE titles under our belts, we entered this season as newbies to Show Cheer with our own unique, in-house routine and music. Honestly? We coaches were a little nervous! But our team worked tirelessly to adjust, pivot and use their own individual strengths to make us a stronger unit.

As a team they've taken this routine to the Central Jersey Cheer and Dance competition - 1st place, zero deductions; The Garden State Cheer and Dance Championships - 1st place; and this past weekend, to the Eastern Region Cheer and Dance Championships where they placed FIRST with a Zero Hit award for no deductions.

Placing first gave us our bid to Nationals which takes place in Orlando, Florida, on December 8th where our team will compete against teams from all over the US. These cheerleaders have worked extremely hard, taken the comments of the judges and improved their scores at each competition. We have some big plans for Florida and intend to bring another 1st place trophy home to Manville.

We are currently working very hard to raise the funds needed for the team's travel expenses and are reaching out to our families, our friends, and our town for help. We are estimating the cost of each athlete to be approximately $1,200.

Your support in previous years has given us an amazing opportunity to grow this program from one little competition squad of 12, to two competition squads of 21 and 18, both holding all 1st place positions this season.

We are personally so very proud to be a part of this team, this program, and this town's growth with you all.
