Many Faces Brewery Internship - Diversity in Beer
Donation protected
In the summer of 2021, the Many Faces Initiative will launch a paid ten-week brewery internship program designed to provide mentorship and offer an immersive training experience to people of color interested in pursuing careers within the craft brewing industry. The Many Faces Initiative is committed to creating an annual summer brewery internship program, with plans to expand the program in the years ahead to increase brewery participation and add to the total number of internships offered each year.
This year, four breweries and one cidery in North Carolina will host interns. These breweries will receive grants from the Many Faces Initiative designed to subsidize some of the cost of the internship. The grant-based model is intended to make participation in the internship more feasible for breweries of all sizes who are interested in getting involved in diversity, inclusivity, and equity work at their breweries.
Town Brewing Co. raised money to support the program last year through their release of Many Faces West Coast IPA, but we still need help to ensure that the new internship program is successful this summer and in the coming years. While we originally planned to have internships at three breweries this summer, we decided to add two additional internships at two more locations in North Carolina. As a result, we need to raise more funds by this summer for the additional grants, and to cover some of the expenses involved with securing guest speakers and intern travel.
The Many Faces Initiative appreciates your support! Thank you for helping to make this program a success. With your help, we hope to continue in our efforts to build up this program in the years to come to promote and foster diversity and inclusivity in the craft beer industry.
