Maple Grove Veteran's Memorial BSA Eagle Project

Hi, my name is Jonathan Weikel. I am a Senior at Totino-Grace High School and a resident of Maple Grove. This fundraiser is for my Eagle Scout project, which aims to rehabilitate barren areas and install new plants around the Maple Grove Veteran's Memorial.

I am currently working with the City of Maple Grove staff on this project, and we are hoping to get this project done by November. However, this won't be possible without some funding. I hope to plant dozens of new plants around the Memorial, such as Perrenials and Coneflowers. Along with this, I hope to rehabilitate a barren and weed-infested hill that sits behind the Memorial.

As a Gold Star Child, this project is important to me as the Memorial pays tribute to the fallen Service Members of Maple Grove and the US. I also believe it gives back to the Maple Grove community and to the Men and Women of this country who have sacrificed so much to protect it.

If I can raise my goal of $1,500, I will be able to fund most of this project and hopefully finish it before the Minnesota Winter rolls in.

To clarify, because I'm a minor, my parents will be handling the funds in their banking accounts so I can comply with GoFundMe's policies.
