Mara Smith Medical & Living Expense

Our sister Mara was diagnosed with rectal cancer in July 2017, which metastasized to her lungs and liver so she is stage 4. She has worked so hard to get through this, including taking treatments that often had very painful and difficult side-effects.  She is now under hospice care at home and we don't know how much longer she will be with us.  Her 19-year-old daughter Ashley graduated from Johnston High School in May 2021, and while she plans to enter college in the fall, she is taking time from work for now to focus on caring for her mother.

Mara did not work for a big corporation but rather worked for an elderly couple as a caregiver and housekeeper for over 20 years.  There is no retirement aside from Social Security and no other savings.

We created this account to help raise enough money to ensure Mara and Ashley's needs are met during this difficult period. Your prayers and financial support are a true blessing to Mara and Ashley and all of us in our family!
