I have created this page to raise some funds for some charities that either helped us in my late husband, Mark, short but hard-fought battle with cancer or were close to Mark’s heart.

I came up with a brainwave(!!) & decided I'd run a marathon in honour & memory of him. Mark was a two-time Ironman, had multiple other triathlons & races under his belt including his 1st ultra marathon a month before his diagnosis. Whilst I have done some triathlons and half marathons, I have never had the desire to run a marathon, in fact, I swore I would never do one and now I'm hoping to do 13.

Each run has been selected for a reason & to tie in some travels we said we'd do.

I have also been humbled by the number of people joining me on various runs, some are seasoned runners other are starting their C25K! The power of Mark to inspire & encourage continues x

• 1 October - Loch Ness (we love Scotland) - ** DONE ** Chip time 5hrs 19 mins with Sarah

• 26 November - Oulton Park (he used to do the track days there & I'd try to photograph him) ** DONE ** Chip time 5hrs 19mins (thought I'd improved but obvs not!) with Carolyn & Julie

• 7 April - Paris (he always promised to take me) Bernadette completed it, I’ll be back to do it

• 14 April - Manchester (our home town) Running with Sarah, Annie, Karen, Andy, Dave, Ste G, Steve M, Phoebe, Christoph & Karl - ** DONE ** chip time 5.54

• 5 May - Vancouver (we went there on honeymoon) ** DONE ** chip time 5hrs 30mins

• 18 May - Windermere (we love the Lakes & spent many weekends there) ** DONE ** Chip time 5hrs 58 mins

• 15 Sep - Sydney, Oz (we brought in 2017 NY here, also catch up with some of our friends)

• 13 Oct - Melbourne (to visit Mark's uni friends)

• 16 Nov - Queenstown, NZ (to visit a friend as we said we'd go)

• 10 Dec - Hawaii (we had plans to go) running with Georgia

• February 2025 - Lulworth (where his sister lives & his stone !)

• April 2025 - London (has to go on the list!! But we also spent a lot of time here with work, family & events)

• April 2025 - Boston (to meet Mark's uni friend) As Boston is notoriously difficult to get into the ‘back up’ will be Everest base camp marathon!!

I will pay the entry fee’s and any travel costs myself. 100% of the funds raised here will be equally split between the 5 charities;

1. The Christie – where Mark went for treatment and where we spent a lot of time during his 5 month battle

2. Macmillan – who helped support us through Mark’s journey and my cancer journey back in 2015

3. Little Troopers – a charity supporting children who have a parent in the military which was set up by Mark’s sister, Louise, and who Mark supported

4. Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue – Mark was a team member

5. Maggie’s – who provided support to all of Mark’s family during his journey
