To all of our extended Forge family,
This has been an incredibly difficult year for everyone and we are so proud of our teams at Marc Forgione, Peasant & Khe-yo! From crawling out of the first shutdown to reinventing the restaurants with outdoor seating and takeout, we’ve done things to stay open that we never could have imagined just a year ago.
Unfortunately with the announcement that New York City will have to close indoor dining yet again, we're entering another period of battling for survival and we have to close Restaurant Marc Forgione and Peasant for most of the winter. The reality is, without some kind of government support or aid (which has not come through yet), many of our employees will go without any financial assistance for most of the winter. Our employees are our family and so, though we know these are trying times, we are left with no choice but to once again reach out to all of you for support in order to help our employees be able to feed their families. We have set up another GoFundMe and are personally starting it off with a $5,000 donation. If you donated to our GoFundMe before, THANK YOU SO MUCH. And really, no amount is too small and we truly appreciate anything you can donate. THIS IS 100% FOR THE EMPLOYEES.
If you donate at least $300 to our fund, you will receive an invitation to an exclusive virtual cooking class with Chef Marc who will share the secrets behind some of our signature dishes and supply you with the recipes beforehand so you can cook alongside him if you'd like! Details will be shared here shortly but it will definitely be a great time.
We really wish we did not find ourselves in this position again and we want to do everything we can to make sure every member of our team can make it through the winter and join us again when we reopen. Thank you!!
