On Monday, December 27, 2021 Marc McClain lost his battle with COVID. He leaves behind his loving wife Lorinda, and their four children Cole, Liv, Konnor and Deuce.
The McClain family has suffered an unimaginable loss by the sudden death of Marc McClain - a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, coach, mentor, community member and role model – who tragically passed away from COVID-19 after a month-long struggle in the ICU on December 27, 2021. And then the family lost Marc’s mother, Nisaa Seifullah, to COVID-19 within a week of Marc’s passing.
The McClain family is devastated and heartbroken, and to say that the last month leading up to Marc’s passing has been difficult would be an understatement. Lori living in a hotel to be close to Marc as he fought for his life and their family every day. The children having to fly in unexpectedly and last minute from all over the country to be there for Marc and eachother, to fly back to lay their father to rest and then to fly back again a few days later for their grandmother’s funeral. The mounting medical bills with Marc in the ICU for nearly a month. The loss of income both over the last month, and now going forward without Marc to help support the family with one daughter in college and the youngest two children as athletes, one training as a world-class gymnast in Texas and the other a freshman in high school in Caliente Nevada where Marc had been coaching.
I cannot imagine the weight of it all on our dear friend Lori, of having to try to move forward, with being there to emotionally support her children as they mourn what is a life-changing loss, and to try to provide for them with all of this financial stress and worry. Lori is an amazing and strong woman, MCCLAIN STRONG, but even for the best of us this is all too much to bear. Marc was loved and touched the lives of so many. Marc would want his family to be supported in his absence.
So I’m doing the only thing I can think of, which is ask for help to ease the McClain family’s financial burden so that Lori can focus her love and attention on herself and her children as they try to heal from this enormous emotional and spiritual loss. Any amount you can give will help, and I’m sure as a community we can really make a difference for this family.
Please keep Lori and the kids in your thoughts and prayers.
