Marc Silvestri Memorial Fund

On Saturday, January 9, 2021, Marc was hunting with Michael and his cousin. While hunting, Marc fell over twice. Upon hearing this news, Michelle decided to take Marc to the ER. At the ER in Austintown, they determined that Marc had two brain tumors. They asked to be discharged and immediately headed to UH Main campus in Cleveland. Upon arriving at the ER, and after some testing, Marc was told that he has a spot on his lung that had metastasized to his brain.  After further testing, Marc has been diagnosed with non small lung cancer with brain metastasis. He will be undergoing surgery on Monday, January 18, 2021 to remove as much of the brain tumors as possible and will also be undergoing radiation. They will be discussing with doctors this week treatment for his lung cancer. 


Marc is the husband of Michelle, father of two daughters, Mikayla and Mikenzie, and one son Michael. He is a teacher at MCCTC and for the Adult Ed auto tech program. His students and peers are anxious for him to return to work. Amazingly, former students are contacting the family and letting them know what an amazing teacher and mentor he has been to them. . In his spare time, he avidly hunts with his three children and also likes to fish. 


During this time, Marc is unable to work and Michelle has been staying with Marc in Cleveland and is not able to work. Due to COVID, the kids are unable to see their dad and Michelle has been staying in a hotel close to the hospital as she is only able to be with Marc from 8 am to 8 pm.
