March Fourth
We will march for those who were killed and traumatized by the mass shooting that took place in Highland Park, Illinois on July 4, 2022, as well as the countless other massacres that have occurred in the United States.
IT’S TIME TO BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS
Join us on July 13 in Washington D.C. Any amount of support is deeply appreciated. So far, we have over 400 supporters coming to rally in D.C. Thank you!
On July 4, 2022, our community of Highland Park, Illinois, fell victim to a deadly mass shooting that killed seven people and wounded more than 30 others. It is yet one of the many countless tragedies that have plagued our country for too long.
We are sickened. We are heartbroken. We are angry.
According to Everytown, firearms are the leading cause of death for American children and teens. We must fight for our children’s lives and demand action to ban assault weapons.
We will peacefully protest at the nation’s Capitol on July 13. Any and all donations are welcome; funds collected here will help pay for Highland Park, IL and Uvalde, TX mass shooting victims (as well as supporters of this cause): travel to D.C., lodging needs there, event supplies and essentials such as food and water. All leftover donations will go to victims/survivors of Highland Park, IL and Uvalde, TX mass shootings.
My name is Megan Bauman, and I live nearby Highland Park. I have personal connections to several people who were directly impacted by the events on July 4th. Along with March Fourth’s founding member, Kitty Brandtner, and many other North Shore mothers and residents alike, I am helping to raise funds in support of our planned march on July 13. Join us. I will withdraw/transfer funds collected here to a company bank account under our 501(c)(4), March Fourth to Ban Assault Weapons at Lake Forest Trust. I am in charge of all disbursements and will be responsible for repaying the direct, out-of-pocket costs we have incurred to get victims and survivors to D.C. and house them there, allowing them to speak directly with government officials on July 12th and 13th. Funds will also be used to reimburse (by check) those who requested funds to get to D.C. to support this rally. All remaining funds will be donated to survivors and victims of the Highland Park and Robb Elementary School shootings, with exact funds TBD.
