Ceasefire STL
17 students and faculty members were killed in a school shooting on February 14th in Florida. Within hours of the shooting student survivors demanded reform. The March For Our Lives was formed and sister marches are popping up. This is the next logical step of political activism.
This is bigger than just a school shooting. This is about all lives impacted by gun violence — in places of worship, workplaces, shopping malls, in our neighborhoods. We are marching to demand “that a comprehensive and effective bill be immediately brought before Congress to address these gun issues.”
On March 24th at 10 a.m., St. Louis will march in solidarity, saying #NeverAgain with our voices and numbers.
As a movement created by, inspired by, and led by students, we will no longer risk our lives as we wait for those in power to take action against the epidemic of mass school shootings and gun violence.
Talk. March. Vote.
So what do we need? We need funds. We are estimated at about 5k people attending right now, with over 11k interested.
A couple of things we will be spending money on:
Porta Potties
Tables
AV Equipment
Staging Equipement
Water
Sinage
All extra funding will go back into the STL Community to fight gun violence right here, both in our schools AND in our streets.
Yours for the movement,
STL March for Our Lives
