Marching (Merley) for MND

Donation protected
Hi there,

Those that know me, will know that physical exercise these days is not me. I am a sitter and tea drinker, not a walker. I ache the next day after just gardening for a few hours! So, you will probably be surprised that I will be walking around Merley in aid of my friend of 30+ years Paul who at 45 was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease (MND). MND is life shortening and there is no cure.

On the 26th/27th March 2022, I plan to walk every road in Merley, Wimborne – starting from Hawker Close where Paul grew up… It is approximately 30ish miles to cover the whole area.

Paul now lives in Ireland but frequently visits home, family and friends.

I hope to increase awareness as best as I can and to raise as much money as possible to support Paul and his family and the MND foundation's for research and to help others going through the same. I believe that this will help me attempt in some small way try to understand what Paul and many others face every day.

I truly admire Paul’s bravery and determination.

So, if there is anything you can do to help, if you want to join me on my walk or simply donate, I would very much appreciate your support.

The IMNDA is a leading charity providing care and support to people affected by MND, as well as funding vital research into finding a cure.

My challenge is to march every road, street, drive and close in Merley where Paul spent his younger years and where his family still lives. The total distance is approximately 25-30 miles. I hope to do this in a day but certainly over the course of a weekend.

Anyone who would like to join me would be most welcome – for part of the walk or as much as you can do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
