Marcia Alves

Hey, my name is Kayleigh Lambrechts and I started this fundraiser in memory of Marcia Alves. Marcia Alves is the mother of Vitoria Balieiro, which is my graduate assistant. I have known Vitoria now for 3 years through our soccer world. Vitoria is originally from Brazil and came to the United States in 2015 to further her education and create a better future for herself and her family. Coming to America comes with a lot of sacrifices and time away from home.

Unfortunately Marcia Alves passed away on September 18th 2023 and I decided to start this gofundme to help out Vitoria with the cost of a plane ticket to go back to Brazil and any funeral costs. Marcia was known as a warrior who always puts her children first. She hated missing Vitoria, but knew this was in her best interest. Any donation helps to get Vitoria home. As an international myself, I know how hard it is to grief far away from home and during this difficult time, she needs the support of her family the most.
