Marcia Payne

Hello, my name is Catherine (Cate) and I've been Marcia's friend for over 45 years. I'm fundraising for Shawn Payne, Marcia's son. Shawn recently buried his father in February of 2021. Now, at the young age of 39, he is taking care of funeral arrangements and other financial obligations for his mother who died on Monday, August 22, 2022. Please, let me give you some background. Marcia buried and paid for both her sister's and mother's funerals in the last 5 years as they had planned for nothing. Marcia returned to Montanna to set up and completely pay for both of their funerals. Guess what? Marcia did the same thing - she didn't plan for her husband's death or for hers. Her son has been left with everything - from carrying out how to bury his father with full military honors, to how to honor his mother's last wishes. He was incredibly diligent, staying at her bedside, holding her hand, and watching her take her last breath. Now, he has a second funeral to plan for. He is left with figuring out how to pay for her burial, so she can be entombed with his father, including a new gravestone at their forever site. You may ask, "What Else?" Well, he is also responsible for what to do with his family's childhood home. I know this doesn't sound like a dilemma, but if you think that, you've clearly never visited this home. Words cannot begin to describe the shape of this home. I want to honor his mom and dad, so let me just say, it was unique. It was built in the 1950s and has had absolutely no upgrades - original everything - from electricity, asbestos flooring, carpet, and windows (windows that blow your hair back if you stand in front of them.) Shawn doesn't have a home - I'd like to see him have this one. I'd like to see his mother buried next to his father. I'd like to see both of their names together on the tombstone.
