Donate to help Marcia Yack’s medical expenses

Hello Friends and Family. This is Kaitlyn, Marcia’s youngest. Many of you know what my family has been going through with my breast cancer diagnosis in May of this year, we have been hit again with another obstacle in the road. My mom’s symptoms began in May and have worsened over the last months. We tried to seek help and get answers locally, but decided to get her checked out at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. They admitted her right away on Sept. 13th and has been there since.  She has been through multiple tests, heart and bone marrow biopsies, x-rays and scans. She was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis, and have started her treatment, which is a chemo regimen. AL amyloidosis is a rare disorder that happens when plasma cells in your bone marrow change or mutate. These cells make abnormal proteins that become twisted clumps of misshaped proteins that gather in your heart, kidneys, and other organs. On Sept. 21st, at around 4am, we almost lost her. A traumatizing event, that will now be scarred into my dads head, lead to finding out her heart seems to be failing faster than we thought. She is currently getting worked up for a heart transplant but that could happen in weeks, months, or years.

 

The Yack family isn’t the type to ask for help or handouts but with everything that my parents have had to deal with health wise this year, on my behalf, I have started this to help them.

We don’t know how long she will be at Cleveland Clinic but we do know she has a long journey ahead of her.
