Marcial Westby's Medical Expenses

Our beloved brother, friend, and integral member of the Wayo's family, Marcial, was viciously attacked Saturday night. He was airlifted to Belize City early Sunday morning and remains in intensive care.

Marcial, his family and his loved ones, are facing substantial medical bills, so let's raise all we can to support his recovery and bring him back to full health and happiness.

Marcial started working for my husband, Wayo, and me back in December of 2018 and was one of the first to come back to us after we were closed for over a year due to the Covid pandemic. If you've ever been to Wayo's you know it's not just a business; it's a family, we love our staff like they are our flesh and blood, and Marcial is an integral part of what makes Wayo's Wayo's.

Wayo and I, along with his mother, decided late Sunday afternoon, after making sure he was stable, to move him to a private facility in Belize City to ensure that he would receive the attention the severity of his injuries demanded. He has had one emergency surgery to repair his lung, is in an induced coma, and is being kept in ICU for now.

To date his medical bills are at around $80,000 Belize Dollars and are growing daily. While the exact details of recovery and hospital time are still unknown, the prognosis is favorable, but he will likely be facing a lengthy recovery.

Wayo and I are facilitating the payment of his medical bills, which ensures his continuous care, and we will be working with his family on his recovery so that they can focus on Marcial.
