The Story of Marco

Marco was a proud South African who came to Ireland by way of the UK. He first moved to help his daughter start a new chapter in her life, ensuring she was settled and supported. Marco’s love for his daughter was unmatched—he seized every opportunity to visit her or bring her to Ireland to share in his life. Their bond was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment they spent together.

Marco had a deep love for music that shaped much of his life. Not only did he enjoy listening to music, but he also took part in creating it as a DJ. His passion for music was infectious, and he used it to connect with others and bring joy to those around him. Whether behind the decks or simply sharing his favorite songs, Marco’s love for music was an extension of the vibrant and creative spirit that defined him.

Marco was a man who truly lived life to the fullest. His infectious smile and boundless positivity lit up every room he entered. Even in challenging times, he remained a source of happiness and encouragement for those around him. After relocating to Ireland, Marco became a familiar and beloved figure in Clonakilty, where he worked as a bartender at the Courtyard Bar.

Marco’s colleagues and patrons remember him as a true gentleman, always welcoming, kind, and dedicated. The management team at the Courtyard Bar described him as a treasured staff member who made countless friends through his warm and charming personality.

Sadly, Marco’s life was tragically cut short in a single-vehicle crash on the N71 in Clonakilty in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his loved ones, friends, and community.
