Marco's Motorcycle Accident

We are reaching out on behalf of Marco M., who recently endured a tragic life-altering event. While we are extremely grateful that he survived, his road to recovery is only beginning, and he needs our support now more than ever. As of this posting, he remains hospitalized.

On Saturday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30PM, Marco was in a devastating motorcycle hit and run accident. Marco was leaving a gas station with a family member on separate motorcycles when they were struck by an unidentified driver that never stopped to see if anyone was injured. He was left on the side of road severely injured. The accident tragically resulted in the amputation of his leg, as well as a severe broken left wrist. At the scene of the accident, Marco crawled to safety off the roadway. A police officer on his way back to the station to end his shift responded to the call. He and an off-duty firefighter came to his aid and tied a tourniquet around his left leg with a belt, to help control the bleeding until help arrived. Marco was wearing a motorcycle armor vest and helmet that helped save his life.

Marco values his family, friends, and faith more than anything. He is a beloved son, brother, uncle, and dad. He has one of the kindest hearts and would do anything for anybody. He loves big. He is fiercely loyal, hard-working, and driven. Marco is a single father trying to put his only daughter through college. Marco is a self-employed livery driver with his own company. His life and livelihood have been severely impacted. He is facing financial hardship due to accruing medical bills, not to mention all of the anticipated future medical expenses that he will inevitably incur in connection with extensive rehabilitation services, and specialized care.

Marco’s positive spirit has always been an inspiration to those around him, and despite facing immense physical and emotional challenges, he remains optimistic and determined to rebuild his life. After enduring multiple surgeries, extensive medical treatments, and rehabilitation, Marco’s road to recovery will be long and difficult. However, we firmly believe that with compassion, grace, and generosity, we can help alleviate the financial burden that comes with such a journey.

Our goal is to raise funds that will cover Marco's medical expenses, specialized prosthetics, physical and psychological therapy, and necessary home modifications to accommodate his new circumstances. These financial needs are large, and we are hopeful that through your kind generosity, we can provide Marco with the best care and resources available to facilitate his recovery.
