Hi, my name is Marcus and I am 15 years old. I have been granted the wonderful opportunity to go to Costa Rica in 2024 with Camps International.

I have fundraised for my expedition using many fundraising activities (car washing, mowing lawns, selling beaded jewellery and greeting cards, dog walking, group fundraisers in school etc.) to try and raise the money required for me to go and help out the local communities who are currently living in the tough conditions of poverty. I have also completed a 300 miles sponsored bike ride challenge.

I just want to add that this expedition is not a holiday. My trip to Costa Rica will include the tasks of building schools, nurseries, clean water supplies and taps, replanting trees and preserving the extremely biodiverse rainforests.

The adventure side of this expedition is learning and completing the PADI scuba diving licence. I will learn many new skills during my time in Costa Rica and the fundraising beforehand like communication, leadership, time management and more.
