Marcus Nelson’s Recovery Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hey loves, this is Destiny.
It’s crazy the curveballs life will throw you that drop you out of your head and all of your plans and right in to the present moment.
Yesterday my beloved Marcus Nelson had a terrible paragliding accident. He is at Harborview in the Trauma ICU undergoing multiple surgeries to repair a fractured spine, rib fractures, and bilateral leg fractures. He also had to have abdominal surgery. He is on the road to recovery but is in a lot of pain.
It was a long night last night waiting for the biggest surgery to repair his L1 spinal burst fractures. We were worried he might lose function of his legs, but the surgery went well and he is already recovering sensation. He had a vertebral fusion from T11-L4 and is having plates and screws in to repair his right tibia/fibia and talus. He’s becoming a real life bionic man. We are mourning the loss of mobility he will experience but are so, so grateful that he is alive, that he can move his body at all, and for the lifesaving treatment from the staff at Harborview.
We have our fingers crossed that he is in his last surgery today. Visitation at the hospital right now is very limited due to COVID, and they are only allowing one visitor a day, which is so difficult because we all love Marcus and want to see him and support him.
Please send love, support, and encouragement our way. Marcus is so strong and he’s going to heal and recover. He’s already making jokes about taking up painting while he’s recovering. His family really needs love and support via prayers, food, and words of encouragement. Please let me know if you would like to offer them support and I can connect you. We are currently setting up a gofundme to help with massive medical bills.
Marcus is such an incredible man. He is incredibly thoughtful, passionate, intelligent, heart-centered, committed, loyal, and does so much to lead the world towards greater health and purpose. He has so much integrity and is honest to his core. Getting to spend this last year with him has brought so much love, support, and expansion to my life. He has been working towards becoming a tandem paraglide pilot, teaching kids and adult gymnastics, works as a tree climber and arborist, is working towards sustainable construction and community living, performs tricklining/highlining professionally, and loves sharing his passion for health, fitness, movement and pushing the limits with the world. He is my philosopher King, my partner, my teacher, my beloved, my best friend, my muse, my inspiration, my challenger, my babay. I am so grateful he is alive and that we get to continue co-creating life together, whatever that looks like.
Please help us by contributing to help pay some of these massive medical bills so we can continue to co-create life together. We appreciate all of the healing vibes, prayers, words of support, and donations.
We love you. Thank you.
