In Memory of Marcus Pochettino

In memory of Marcus Pochettino, a cherished husband, father, and friend, we have established this GoFundMe page. On Tuesday, February 27th, Marcus tragically lost his life in a car accident, leaving behind his wife Casey, to whom he was married for 12 years, and their two sons, Charles (9) and Sebastian (7).

Marcus was the epitome of a loving spouse and father, deeply involved in his community and family life. He served as a beloved coach for Charles' soccer team and was a familiar and friendly face at the local bus stop, where he often hosted unsolicited, spontaneous play dates. His recent endeavor to rebuild their family deck, a project close to completion, became a source of light-hearted jokes among friends and family. His absence will be profoundly felt, from the loss of his nightly readings of Harry Potter to his sons, to the small acts of care and maintenance around their home, and his tender care for their physical and emotional well-being. Marcus was known for his tardiness, a trait we now wish could have applied to his departure from this world.

Casey, Marcus's wife, shared her grief and love for Marcus in a heartfelt social media post:

I cannot believe that this has happened. Marcus passed away suddenly on Tuesday. We are shattered. Gutted. There simply are no words.

We miss him so much.

We met 17 years ago and had just laughed about how we were getting close to knowing each other half of our lives. We planned, expected, and dreamed that would come true. But now.

There are no words to for the depth and breadth of our loss. He lived every day with love for me and our boys. He was our entire universe, and we were his. We lost the best dad in the history of the world. He’d read books every night before bed, played in the yard with them nearly every day to play soccer with Charles or some new game Sebastian made up, and kissed them every night before bed, without fail, whispering, “sweet dreams little guy.”

He was my best friend. And there is such an unimaginable void. He was our heart, our stars, and now our angel.

The outpouring of support for Casey and her sons during this incredibly difficult time has been immense. Through this GoFundMe, we will provide updates regarding funeral services and other ways to support the family. Although meal train needs have been met, this fund will assist with immediate financial needs, funeral expenses, the completion of the deck project as a tribute to Marcus's efforts, and any necessary support services for Casey and the boys.
