Marcus Wybrow
Donation protected
Marcus Wybrow, a resident of Squamish, BC, was an experienced Rock Guide and Mountain Guide well-known and well-respected in the BC and Alberta climbing communities. He had a youthful, adventurous spirit and a deep love of Canada's mountain regions. He was a very kind and considerate person who cared deeply about the people in his life, always making time to lend a hand or encouragement to any friend in need.
Marcus perished at age 29 in an unpredictable avalanche in Alberta on November 11th, 2023. His friends and mountaineering colleagues have put together a fund in his honour. Money from the fund will be used partly for a memorial in Squamish but largely to help fund access to climbing through the Squamish Access Society and the Squamish Bolt Fund, so that more people can gain access to and enjoy the mountain country that Marcus so loved. If donations exceed the goal, the extra funds may be used to set up a scholarship in Marcus's name.
