Mare and foal rescue 2023 - Pono and Koa

Right now this sweet young mare and her colt are at a Texas feedlot waiting for a trailer to bring them to us here in Southern California. They are both very underweight, have a cough, and will need veterinary care when they arrive.

The mare has been named, Pono, which means "deserve" in Hawaiian and her colt has been named, Koa which means "warrior" in Hawaiian.

We operate a small horseback riding rental string in Norco, Ca and are not a non-profit, we have a safe place and the horse experience to help them recover and have set up a GoFundMe page for anyone who would like to help donate to their rescue and recovery journey.

It is amazing how these two ended up at the feedlot, but thankfully they will be heading here soon where we can evaluate their current condition and give them the care and love they deserve.

We will update their YouTude page with their progress and post new videos of them once they have arrived safely.

***1/1/24 UPDATE: Pono has received a blanket, antibiotics, and is getting extra food to help bring her weight back up. We are waiting to confirm a transfer date to bring them from Texas to SoCal.
