The Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery Project is a quest to return the Cemetery to its former glory and return it back to a professional and presentable standard for the town's folk, and visitors to our region. This is Mareeba's iconic historical location that many pioneers are laid to rest. We are aiming to make the Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery an attractable location, to honour, remember and pay tribute to all who are laid to rest within the historical Cemetery. This will attract visitors and families to attend, and also make the cemetery a respectable iconic location for all.

Why I'm fundraising

The Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery Project urgently needs funds to continue its project. The aim of the project is to ensure as many pioneer graves can be cleaned and painted to a professional and presentable standard.

Supplies, such as brushes, rollers, water hoses, and various other items, including much needed outdoor white paint are items needed to continue with the project. The Pioneer Cemetery is also in dire need of many added upgrades, such as water points and various other innovative ideas to attract visitors to respectfully remember our Pioneers.

The impact of your support

The donations will make a significant difference. Most of these graves are well over 100 years of age and a project of this nature is something the township is mighty proud to do, attracting many volunteers to help with the progress. Not only will it beautify, the cemetery, but it will make the Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery one of the best presented, to ensure the memory of all that lay to rest here are honourable remembered and the historical significance of Mareeba's History is at the forefront of this remarkable historical location.
