This account has been created by a family friend. I had the pleasure becoming friends with Margaret Mancusco through our children. Our children attend Ultimate Champions Taekwondo together and have been traveling to tournaments and Nationals together for several years now.
The Last Four Months:
Margaret has been diagnosed with breast cancer this past October 2015, classified as stage 3 cancer. Margaret has had 5 of 12 scheduled chemotherapy treatments and has needed 2 blood transfussions already. Her 6th treatment was delayed because of side effects. Her tumor remains to large to be removed but the plan is to reevaluate it in April.
Margaret will have to travel back and forth to the hospital continually for checkups and treatments.
A mother of 5 children (Michael 17, Melissa 15, Matthew 12, Michele 11, Mason 5), Margaret is considered to be the "Team Mom" at Ultimate Champions Taekwondo Bayside for over 10 years. She is the backbone of the school. She helps with anything that the school needs and always assists at tournments in anyway she can.
When Margaret was able to work, she was working as an operating room nurse at North Shore Manhasset Hospital in order to support their wonderful family, She works hard 12 hour night shifts and has been there for over 18 years. Her husband also works full time for the NYC Board of Ed as a chef. Her eldest son , Michael, also works part time at the Bayside School.
However, due to chemotherapy and treatments, it is impossible for her to work. She is a full time worker both day and night, but will no longer be able to work at least for another year.
Margaret family needs our help! They are facing an uphill fight and will need all of the financial assistance they can get.
All funds raised will go directly to the Mancuso's to assist with medical and related expenses. Being a family of 7, there are many expenses that has to be covered.
Please keep Margaret and her family in your prayers and thoughts as she goes through her battle against cancer. Though God's grace, we know she will fight through and be healthy again! We appreciate all your help and generosity. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
