Margaret Rose Varcoe (Maggie)

Hello, we are the Roder family and we are trying to raise funds for a grave marker on behalf of Margaret's elderly father who we have come to know through our local church.

Aboriginal women's footballer Margaret Varcoe (Maggie) clashed heads with an Angle Vale team mate in a freak accident during the division two women's Adelaide Football League grand final on August 26, 2018 at Thebarton Oval. Maggie was stretchered from the field.

Maggie passed away in hospital 4 days later.

Maggie has laid in an unmarked grave at Smithfield Memorial Park South Australia for 5 years now. We are hopeful to raise the funds to provide her with an adequate lawn tablet/marker. Every person should have a marker at their grave for loved ones to visit.

In discussion with Brian, Margaret's father we have established this GoFundMe page to enable people across our community to contribute to a fund that will be used to honour Maggie.
