Hi, my name is Kimberly Candelario and my siblings and I created this account for our parents who survived a horrific fire on Friday.

At approximately 3pm(ish) Friday, 3/31/2023, my Mom and her husband (both retired) were napping at home when they were awakened by the fire department and sheriff’s office pounding on their doors and windows to wake them up for an emergency evacuation. Multiple grass fires in Edmond (Logan County) on Simpson Road quickly engulfed their home and they barely got out in time due to the 60mph winds. Thanks to the wonderful heros that evacuated them through flames and smoke, they got out in time but they lost everything, including their vehicles, except for the clothes they were wearing. My mom and stepdad are such survivors. She went through an entire year of chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer, and he recently had back surgery.
