Margarita Satini (Sundin) Memorial Fund
MARGARITA N SATINI FUNDRAISER UPDATE:
Thank you for your outpouring of love and support to my brother, James Sundin’s family. We posted an update but are required to post in the story as well. This fundraiser was set up by myself, Amber Sundin DeBirk (Jame’s sister and Margarita’s sister-in-law). I set up a Memorial Account at America First Credit Union, a very well known financial institution in Utah. James Sundin is the beneficiary of the account that was set up. We did a memorial account for one main reason, to be transparent to the community, so that if you want to make donations directly to the America First Account you can, etc. We have provided Go Fund Me with the account details, including a letter from America First’s local branch where we set it up showing James on the account as we are trying to get the funds raised (thank you for your donations) deposited into the account so that my brother can pay the following bills:
Larkin Mortuary- $10,500, this is major, my brother and his family can’t lay Margarita to rest until this Bill is paid. We have the money in this Go Fund Me Fundraiser to do this and are waiting on Go Fund Me to send the money!!! After doing everything they have asked for verification this is frustrating to say the least. Especially when there is not a phone number and all you can do is continue to email support. Then you get someone from the company to respond, you do what they ask you to do, then they have a different person email you. If you have a phone number or can help that would be greatly appreciated so we can lay my sister-in-law to rest.
As stated in our specific update to other bills this campaign is paying includes: paying off their remaining car loan which was Margarita’s car, rent and utilities for 6 months, remaining medical bills from her last pacemaker procedure, insurance, and a couple of thousand for living expenses.
Go Fund Me PLEASE RELEASE THE FUNDS so we can lay Margarita to rest!!!!!!!

Vibrant and adored daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, mentor, and fierce protector of social justice for communities of color - Margarita Satini transitioned from this world to the next on the morning of October 27, 2020. She leaves behind her husband, four children and four grandchildren - all of whom lived with her.
Margarita was proudly the sole provider for her family as her husband had sustained permanent injuries from his boxing career. Her daughter worked as a CNA with her for the Pacific Islander COVID Response Team administering tests to Utah’s Pacific Islander community. Unfortunately due to her exposure in the field, her entire family at home (9) all tested positive in the last ten days.
Margarita recently received a pacemaker and was at home recovering from COVID when she experienced reduced oxygen levels. She later died at the hospital from complications of the virus.
Margarita’s activism work was funded in large part by grants she received. She was proud of her career in the nonprofit sector. But her family will need financial assistance given her unexpected passing and limited income. This fundraiser will help cover the mounting costs of the medical bills associated with both of her heart procedures from earlier this year, as well as at least 6-months of rent payments for her family as they try to figure out their new “normal.”
We know how this year has been an extraordinary struggle for everyone in our community. On behalf of Margarita and her family, we are so grateful for any support you can give. Every dollar will help provide some much needed financial respite for this beautiful family. Thank you for your concern, well wishes and generosity.
In the spirit of Margarita’s activism, we encourage you to vote.
