Margie Miller - Home destroyed in fire.
Donation protected
Our 85 year old Mother's home was destroyed by a fire early morning, Saturday January 11, 2020. The firefighters believe that a lightning strike hit a tree in her backyard which started the flames that engulfed the entire home. The devastation is indescribable. Fortunately, she and her 8 month old boxer puppy both escaped the fire.
Marjorie (Margie) Miller had lived in this house for 50 years. Having been involved with San Antonio theatre for over 40 years, she had quite a collection of costumes and memorabilia stored in her home.
The fire took all of her possessions including jewelry, clothing, family heirlooms and photos. In addition, necessary medications to treat cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure, totaling more than $400 per month were destroyed.
The severe impact of this event has caused her current health issues to escalate rapidly. She is being hospitalized for smoke inhalation, stress to her heart, and highly elevated blood pressure and blood glucose levels. It's too soon to know when she'll be released and where she will go.
As an elderly, single woman living only on social security, she could not afford home owners insurance. We will need to find a way to pay any and all fees associated with the demolition of the remnants of her home as well as finding her a new place to live.
Reasons we're asking for help:
- The house is a total loss and will need to be demolished.
- The house was NOT insured.
-Margie is elderly, single, and retired. She lives, solely, on social security.
- Margie needs a home and medical assistance.
- Margie needs clothes, shoes, etc.
- Margie needs several medications for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.
We welcome and appreciate any advice, support, donations, and prayers as we start this journey down the road to her recovery.
Thank you,
The Miller Family
