Margo's Journey

In January 2016, the Colvill staff gained an amazing paraprofessional who was attending college (at 64!!) for her Early Childhood Special Education license. Margo currently works part time as as a Specia Education Paraprofessional with preschool children. We were incredibly blessed to gain someone with great experience and the ability to connect with children and families.

On March 4, 2016 Margo was diagnosed with Stage III squamous cell carcinoma which had spread to 4 of 6 lymph nodes. Margo underwent 6 weeks of radiation, 5 times per week and 2 intense rounds of chemo before being told she was cancer free. On February 17, 2017 Margo went to a routine cancer recheck and found that the cancer had returned. This time it had spread to her liver, abdomen, lymph nodes and lungs and was stage IV. She will undergo chemo to slow the progression in hopes to spend quality time with her friends and family (especially her 2 grandkids and 1 on the way). Despite her prognosis, Margo has kept a positive attitude and a smile on everyone's faces- including her own.

Through this page, we hope Margo's dreams of bringing her grandkids to Disneyland and to see the ocean are made a little easier as well as help her pay for her medical expenses that will be coming.
