Margot’s COVID Financial Relief
A couple of weeks ago, COVID-19 hit the Szeker household. And since then, Margot Szeker and Lacey Szeker have been out of work. The virus first hit Brandi Szeker. Margot took care of her, knowing she was already exposed, she stayed by her side. Days later, Margot fell ill with the virus. It started slow, and then hit all at once.
The symptoms increased in severity until Margot had trouble breathing, getting out of bed, or even keeping her eyes open. After Brandi and Lacey tested her blood oxygen levels, they were dangerously low. She was struggling to breathe without coughing. They received advice from a friend and nurse to take her to the ER immediately. But Margot didn’t want to go due to the fact her insurance was taken away at the start of this pandemic. We’ve all heard the stories of Covid patients going into the hospital and not coming out, and if they do it is with a lifetime of debt.
When Brandi took her to the hospital she wasn’t allowed to stay with her. Margot begged the nurse to allow her to remain by her side but unfortunately, this is the one of the cruelest realities with this illness. She would have to battle this alone.
Margot has Covid Pneumonia and is currently fighting to make it out alive. We don’t know how long she will be kept at the hospital to suffer alone, but we want to put her mind at ease to let her know she doesn’t have to worry about the financial burden this disease brings.
The Szeker family asks that you give what you can during this holiday season. We want our mother to return home to her babies for Christmas. Please help us do that. Anything helps. Let us only give her one thing to focus on...
Coming home.
