Maria get a total ear canal ablation in both ears

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Sieara. I am trying to raise money to get Maria the surgery she needs which is a total ear canal ablation in both ears.
Here’s a little bit about Maria, she’s an English bulldog, she gets along with everyone, great with kids, she’s the absolute sweetest and most loving dog. She likes car rides, she loves her stuffed animals, she loves getting her medicine in cheese, she loves back scratches, she absolutely loves cuddles and she loves her bed the most though. I adopted Maria because I struggle with mental health, before I adopted Maria most days I couldn’t get out of bed but every day I’ve had her I’ve gotten out of bed and I spend all my time with her, I love spending time with her and I love her. She’s such a wonderful dog, she’s truly a blessing. She goes almost everywhere with me.
I recently adopted Maria January 26th, 2023 from Warrick Human Society. When I was adopting her they had told me briefly about what happened to her, she was used as a breeding dog. She is only 1 year and 6 months old and she’s already had two litters of puppies. They said more than likely cut her ears off at home for no reason, without taking care of any infection she got from doing that. They had found her with another dog in the middle of Uniontown, Ky. They said she’d probably have to have treatments throughout her life because of it. But they didn’t know how extreme the damage was when I adopted her. They said they wouldn’t have let her be adopted because most people can’t afford such an expense. I was told to do a follow up with the vet to see how her ears were doing so I schedule an appointment February 9th through all breed vet. That day they did a culture test and said the only way her ears will fully heal is if she has a total ear canal ablation in both ears, likely done in Boonville or if they won’t then they’ll send me to Louisville. I have kept the human society updated. I hadn’t received the test results at that point and her ears were getting worse and I let them know and the human society paid for the medicine she was prescribed. I picked up February 16, 2023 at all breed vets where she got spayed that same day. After the appointment on the 9th, I got a referral from the vet for east pines animal hospital they called me a few days later and scheduled an appointment for a consultation on April 14th.
But on February 15th, her ears got worse in only two days so I messaged East Pines animal hospital the photos and they knew what was going on and so the next day I called to try to get in her in sooner. They are able to get me in on March 20th and put me on the list for possible cancellations.
I called and got a quote from east pines, they said for the consultation would be $145 and $45 for blood work. Surgery for total ear canal ablation in both ears range from $3,500-4,000.
We are giving her so much love and want to continue to give her the all the love she deserves.
So far this is what we’ve done to try protecting her ears, we got a cone from the human society to help from scratching but she learned how to take it off, so then we got an inflatable one and she moves it to where the velcro is on the back of her neck and she can reach her ears, then I got her little shoes to protect her ears and she chewed them off. We are doing everything to protect her ears until she can get in for surgery.
She deserves to be fixed, she’s didn’t deserve the way she was treated before the human society rescued her, what she had to go through and what she continues to go through because of the pain in her ears. All I can do right now is continue to give Maria all my love. Please help us give Maria a better life without the pain. Anything and everything is very much appreciated and helps. Prayers are very much needed as well. Thank you.
