Maria Harris Cancer Journey

Hello family and friends, thanks for tuning in.

Here is a little update on what has been going on with me in the past few days. Recently I was feeling quite tired, even more than being a mom of 2 little ones. I decided it was time to see my doctor on Thursday. On Friday morning, March 8th, I got a call that my labs didn't look great and was told to go to the Emergency Room. As the day went on my additional lab tests looked worse and by the late afternoon the hematologist told me I had leukemia and they needed to transfer me to University of Maryland Medical Center. So I am here at UMMC waiting for more tests and bone marrow biopsy to figure out what kind of leukemia I have and then start chemo in a few days. Needless to say, it has been a whirlwind 2 days but I am in good spirits. I know God is working through this and he is a good good God. I am setting up this page to communicate my journey with you. Please pray for me and my family as we navigate the next few weeks. I am ready to start taking this one day at a time. We will trust in the Lord and the plans he has for us.
