Maria never deserved this.

My name is Lidia Merena. I hope to raise funds for my amazing 89-year-old cancer survivor mom.

On Sept. 28, 2022, hurricane Ian devastated Mom's 65-year-old home in North Port, Fl. Torrential rains and 145 mph winds tore through the roof, leveling the carport, raising a 100-year-old oak tree and flooding the entire home.

We were fortunate to have our neighbor and friend, Carol, shelter us for two days. When flood waters receded, my brother, George, took us into his home despite his wife's tragic and unforeseen death on the night of the storm. We remain there to this day.

Within two weeks, FEMA arrived and declared the home uninhabitable due to extensive mold, roof and flood damage. We received small compensation, but it was insufficient to restore her home.

As we enter this season of peace, joy and love, our prayers and blessing go out to all who have suffered a loss and prevailed.

We ask that you include Maria in your prayers and support our cause to rebuild and restore her home.
