PLEASE HELP TOWARDS FUNERAL COSTS FOR DEAR MARIA

Hi everyone, for those who don't know me, my name is Athena. One of Christie's longest serving friends.

Sadly, last night on 11/09/20204, Christie's mum succumbed to her declining health and passed away.

I just found out Christie was ALONE when her mother passed :( Which makes the situation in my eyes 100 x harder. I can only imagine how that would be, and something unfortunately my own sister had to deal with when finding my father. It will be haunting on top of everything else :(

No words can really describe what Christie went through caring for her mum. Back and forth to the hospital, having to arrange carers and nurses, refusing to put her into a home as she felt it was her duty to look after the mum who so selflessly raised her through her childhood alone, giving her the best she could as a single parent.

To then look after her mum was the most admiral gift back she could give.

It was in her final stages that Christie went above and beyond her care duties. Having to constantly monitor her mothers heart, learn how to administer all her oxygen, pain meds, and countless of other duties, all whilst being ill herself with a crippling body.

Not only is the passing of her mother a huge life changing upset, but it also means a HELL of a lot for Christie for her future life. She will now have to find new accommodation as she will not be able to afford the home she's lived in for the past 7 years without her mother's side of her disability benefits. She will have to give up her home and the car and find storage to keep everything safe, all whilst going through a bereavement.

As many of you know, Christie's financial circumstances are not good. And with a passing comes a funeral. It's an expense I only know of too well. She can't afford a funeral but is desperate to give her mum the final send-off she deserves.

So I am asking for any kind of donations you could possibly give in order for a send-off she deserves.

She has not asked me to do this and will probably be embarrassed once she sees this, but I want to do whatever I can to just try and take some of the burden she will be facing more bareable.

I know times are hard for a lot of us. But honestly, every penny helps. I'm setting the price as a target just as this was roughly what my own fathers funeral cost some years back... if not more.
