Maria was a hard working woman working 14 hour days six days a week.
Maria was always smiling and was light on her feet. She had this pep in her step that was contagious. The heat from the stove never phased her. She would wake up at 4AM and prep the food at one deli then go to another deli and work 12 hour days.
All her recipes were from the heart. Her hands always manicured. Her clothes always neatly pressed and her hair tied neatly in a bun. Her black sneakers were worn, since she was on her feet for most of the day.
Her eyes gleamed with a shy smile and her outlook on life was so positive. She worked with smile and grace and never questioned her purpose. She was smiling on auto-pilot. She was happy.
The weekend before she died she spoke about working toward her fulfill her dream of becoming a homeowner and seeing her children in El Salvador.
Her life was taken senselessly. She mattered. She was a positive force here on this earth regardless of her place in society.
The proceeds will go to her children in El Salvador and towards her funeral arrangement costs.
