Who this will help

Hi, my name is Luciana and I am Maria’s daughter. As a few of you may know my mother had been battling stage 4 metastatic stomach cancer since June 2nd 2022. Her body decided it had enough and it was time to rest. My mom was a hard worker, came here with nothing at the age of 14 from Mexico, deciding to leave her whole family behind try to have a better life. She had 3 amazing kids whom she raised as best as she could. Her life was far from easy but she was a strong woman who would go above and beyond for her kids. She was dedicated to her work at O'Hare as a cook/prep for 18 years, even after her diagnosis she always wished to go back to work, a fight I would always have with her because she never wanted to take time off. My mother never stopped fighting the battle. My momma passed away today 1/2/24 at 5:33 am and is finally able to be at peace, no more pain and no more meds. Even though we were all aware of her terminal diagnosis we always hoped she would get better.

Why I'm fundraising

She would always help her friends and was very selfless. She would go out of her way to help a friend out with how ever she could. I believe a lot of you would like to help her the same way she would help everyone else. Any funds that are raised will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to her services to properly give her a final farewell.
