Maria Salome Francisco

Hi, my name is Tricia DiDomenico, it is with a heavy heart I have to write this for a dear friend whom I consider family and a second mother to me. Maria Salome Francisco was 88 years old, a US citizen of Filipino nationality. She migrated to the United States 20 years ago. She passed away on July 24, 2023, at 9 pm due to end stage heart failure. I have known Maria Salome - whom I and everyone else called "Mama" - for the past 12 years.

She was hard-working, religious, and loved to cook and sell Filipino foods and delicacies to the community. She was also known as a trusted babysitter in the Filipino community. She was a widow with 7 children, but despite her medical conditions, she was able to help and support her children and grandchildren back home. 5 of her children are in the Philippines. One is here, taking care of Mama 24/7. Mama's health started declining in the past 2 years, and her financial situation was also deteriorating. For the past several years she has been staying with friends who have big hearts and temporarily accommodated her. She has required frequent hospitalization and many heart procedures until multi-organ failure. I am asking for help financially to lay her to rest and provide her son with any assistance with housing costs while his immigration status is still pending.
