Maria's Fight Against Multiple Myeloma

Hello everyone!   About a week before we were quarantined, my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which is a plasma cell cancer.  During the last previous months and for the next many months, my dad and I have to take her to cancer treatments, which has been scary for us considering how life threatening contracting the virus would be for her considering that each treatment is in the hospital.  It is tough to see her in pain, and it hurts even more knowing that she has to be trapped at home for her own safety.  She can’t enjoy herself by partaking in her usual hobbies outside of the house because she, myself, and my dad have to take every precaution necessary to make sure she doesn’t contract the Coronavirus.  


With that in mind, next Tuesday, June 9th, is my 18th Birthday, and this year I wanted to do something really special, but not for myself.  My mom taught me from Day 1 to help others before helping myself, and I want to return the favor in her honor.  I love my mom so much, and I thought nothing would mean more to her, myself, and my family than having many gracious people donate to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to fight for a world where every person has precisely what they need to prevent or defeat multiple myeloma whenever they need it(taken directly from their website).  So my birthday wish is asking those who read this to donate any money to this GoFundMe page.  Even one dollar would mean a lot.  Again, 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.   If you are unable to donate, that is perfectly okay.  I just ask that you keep my mom and my family in your thoughts and prayers. 


 This will be a surprise for my mom, and I won’t show her the donations until the day after my birthday, so please please please don’t contact her until after Tuesday.  Please spread the word with your friends and family, but I ask that nobody posts about it on specifically Facebook or else my mom will probably see it, thus ruining the surprise. Anyone who wants to send cards or letters to my mom may do so. Just message me and I’ll give you my address.
