Financial Cushion For Fernanda
Hello friends and family of our dearest, Maria Fernanda. My name is Nico Ricoy and I'm a long time friend of the León side of her family. As you may or may not know by now, Maria suffered a horrible freak accident at her home in Portland, Oregon yesterday morning. A nearby construction crew hit a gas line which caused her building to completely collapse due to a subsequent explosion. She was still in the building as this happened and as emergency crews were trying desperately to evacuate everyone in it. (see unbelievable photos and link below for reference)
The absolute great and miraculous news is that considering the circumstances, she made it out with only cuts, bruises, and minor burns (and of course is heavily shaken up by it all)
However, as you can imagine, she lost everything in her home. Everyday items that we all take for granted (e.g. cell phone, computer, ID, shoes, clothes, contacts/glasses, medications, sentimental items, photos, personal belongings, etc.) were lost in the fire. The last thing anyone needs in her position is to have to pay anything out of pocket for such items. The funds would of course provide a small (but HUGE) financial cushion for her and her immediate family (food, hotel stays, family visit / travel expenses etc.) while they deal with this unforeseen (and frankly freak) event in their lives.
We all know Maria Fernanda would never be the type to ask for help but in fact be one of the first TO help if God forbid one of her friends or family members were ever in a situation like this. I'm sure she and her family would be very grateful for any help at this moment.
Thank you very much for your time.
-Nico
