Maria's Shakespeare Study Abroad

Hello! My name is Maria Taylor and I am working towards a B.F.A in Theatre with a Teacher Certification at Texas State University.
I am thrilled to announce that I have been given the opportunity to study Shakespeare abroad in England during the summer of 2016, ten years after my first visit. This trip falls right after I complete student teaching and fulfills the last requirement for my degree to be conferred in August. My degree plan is slated as a "five year;" I will be completing it in three. This will be the beautiful capstone to a hard and rewarding experience.
The itinerary splits our time between Stratford and London, including shows, tours, history lectures, and master classes in movement, voice, and scene work. My academic goals for this trip include a deeper understanding of Elizabethan theatre, refinement of acting techniques pertinent to Shakespeare, ideas for lesson plans, and an increased appreciation for the English culture. My personal goal is to visit some cathedrals and drink tea at least once a day.
While I have been blessed to have my tuition covered by student loans from the spring, I am still responsible for a plane ticket and incidentals/accidents/emergencies.
I appreciate every contribution--thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart for (literally) helping me graduate!
