Save LIFE & FUTURE of a medical student&her family

Hello,

I am Joslin, a final-year medical student, an activist, and researcher from Gaza city, Palestine. My journey has taken a turn none of us could have anticipated. I started as a dedicated student, dreaming of graduating next year to serve my people working as a medical doctor. However, my world has been shattered by the recent, ongoing war on Gaza, and I find myself at a crossroads, reaching out to you in desperation. The impact of the war has been devastating, leaving my hospital and university in ruins. And later on, our house too; it was totally destroyed, taking away all our warm beautiful memories, and leaving us with no shelter. Forced to flee to the south of Gaza Strip, my family and I sought refuge in Khan Younis, only to be displaced once again. Now, we find ourselves in Rafah, the southernmost part of the Strip, struggling daily to secure even the most basic necessities. Trapped and with no options left, our only hope is to leave the Strip and continue our lives elsewhere; especially now that a ground operation looms on the horizon.

I come from a family where education is valued and cherished. My mother holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, my father a master’s in politics and worked as a diplomatic consultant. I have siblings who are also aspiring scholars—My sister dreamed of graduating from the Faculty of IT Engineering this year, and my other sister hoping to study Business Administration & Management soon. My two brothers, too, face the challenge of missing an academic year due to the upheaval.

Regrettably, crossing the border between Gaza and Egypt (the only way out) now requires 5000$ USD per individual, not including residence or any other expenses estimated 2500$/month—a financial barrier that stands between us and our survival.

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart, seeking your support to raise the funds necessary for our passage. Your contribution, no matter how modest, will play a pivotal role in securing our safety and enabling us to start a new life outside the confines of the war-torn Strip.

I hope to, one day, stand on the other side of this struggle, having graduated and pursued a sub-specialization to better help my community.
