Marianne Newell and Family Recovery

Hi My name is Janet Robb. I am raising funds to help with the recovery of my sister Marianne Newell age 65 . On Wednesday, April 17, Marianne left in her truck to search for her runaway dogs. Marianne and her husband live near Brendan Bryne State Forest. Shortly after she left, her dogs returned back home, but Marianne did not. She did not have her phone with her. She also has some memory issues. After several hours of waiting, the NJ State Police were contacted and the search began. Her sons Matthew and Charlie drove to the area and her daughter Holly flew in from Colorado where she lives with her family. The police searched with dogs and drones, Family and friends searched along with local residents. Her truck was found 5 miles from her home but it was stuck in the mud. The search dogs tracked her two miles but then lost her scent. The search continued and on Sunday, April 21, Marianne was found by a local hunter who had seen the many Facebook and Social Media posts. She was not conscious and was in very bad shape. She had spent 4 nights cold, alone and confused in the forest. She had no food or water. She was Medi-Vaced to a trauma center where her temperature was recorded as 85 degrees . She was put on a ventilator as her breathing was very shallow. She was also put in a medically induced coma. Her body temperature finally came back to normal. Her kidneys and other organs have started functioning normally which they said is a good sign Her immediate family is with her at the hospital as she recovers. As of Saturday, April 27, they have removed the ventilator and she is breathing on her own. She is still heavily sedated, but we think she is aware that her loved ones are near and that she is safe. She is going to have a very long recovery. She will need some help with medical costs but the main reason for this fundraiser is to help Holly with travel expenses. Holly has children and a job in Colorado and is not able to stay in NJ long term. She needs to be there to help with her mother's recovery, but she also has to return to Colorado. We would like some of those funds to go to Holly, so she can continue to be a part of Marianne's recovery and continue to travel to NJ on a regular basis until Marianne is stable and well on the way to recovery.
