Maria's Covid Battle-Family Doesn't Fight Alone

Our co-worker and friend Maria Hernandez was diagnosed with Covid-19 on January 21, 2021. She is a young, healthy mother who has not endured this nasty virus very well. Maria was sent home on oxygen and medications on January 21, 2021 but still was having a hard time breathing. She was admitted to the hospital on January 24, 2021. Maria remains in the hospital and at this point is in the ICU. She does not know when she will be released to come home but since she has been hospitalized for so long, it will take time before she is able to work to help provide for her family. "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." - Jeremiah 17:14
Maria has two boys, Hunter who is 14 and David who is 6 who have not been able to see or touch their mother in four long weeks. Her husband Polo works in the oilfield out in West Texas has had to come home to take care of the boys and is unable to work right now. Maria has worked for Gregg County in the County Clerk’s office for 16 years.
Maria is a dedicated, independent, hardworking, loving mother who would do anything for anyone and now it is our turn to do that for her. Maria never asks for anything but as her work family we feel that we need to do something to help her and her family out during this difficult time. Not only is this emotionally hard on her and her family but the financial strain that it is placing on them is unimaginable. Any dollar amount will help this sweet family and take that added stress off Maria so that she can use that energy to get better. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” -Galatians 6:2
